Months of planning, weeks of donations, and many, many hours of volunteer work came together on December 12 & 13, 2018 when our church hosted the very first De Pere Christian Outreach Christmas Store. The eight churches that make up D.P.C.O. worked together to collect thousands of new items to fill the store. A hundred local families were referred based on financial hardship and were invited in to purchase gifts for their families at a greatly reduced rate. Research has shown that this model of assistance can help instill a bit of pride and dignity for the families involved.
Our Connecting Ministry thanks everyone who donated for the store and helped with the set up, operation, and clean up. We also send our sincere thanks to Marilyn Kabat and her team for their months of research, planning, and coordination to help turn this monumental project into an amazing reality. Let’s hope the Christmas Store helped share God’s love and hope this season.
